The Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) is designed for personnel travelling to/from offshore installations or vessels via helicopter where a CA-EBS will be provided for use in the case of an emergency ditching.
Medicals Copenhagen can issue the certificate to be used when you participate in Boisit training. It is valid for 2 years.
If you are medically unfit to train, you can still participate in your BOSIET/FOET but not the in-water CA-EBS exercises. You will still get your certificate as normal. You will be required to undertake dry CA-EBS training.
Candidates will have to get a ‘fitness to train’ certificate issued by a registered OGUK medical examiner. This will need to be presented to the training provider on the day of your training. Remember to book this along with your OGUK Offshore certificate if you are attending a UK course.
