About 1.2 billion people live in India, and it is the country in the world with the second largest population. In India, you can experience, among other things, the world-famous mausoleum, Taj Mahal, which is one of the 7 wonders of the world. It is said that 20,000 workers and 1,000 elephants contributed to its construction.
Before leaving for India (Middle East), it is recommended that you are at least vaccinated against Hepatitis A and Diphtheria-Tetanus. If you are going to stay in the country for a longer period of time, you should also be vaccinated against Typhoid and consult the doctor about malaria.
If your stay is longer, or the journey is of a special nature with the possibility of intense exposure to infection, it may be relevant to supplement with vaccinations against Japanese Encephalitis, Hepatitis B, Rabies and Tuberculosis.
Below, in the column on the right, you can see how long before departure you should start your vaccination.
The vaccines listed are the general recommendations of the health authorities. When you come for vaccination, your specific conditions are reviewed, including vaccination history and expected activities at the destination, after which a concrete recommendation is given based on an assessment of the specific situation. That recommendation may differ from the general recommendations.
