OGUK Medical Examination / Norwegian Medical Certificate

The OGUK medical or Norwegian Medical Certificate is required by some employers or companies before personnel can be deployed to offshore workplaces around the world. OIL & GAS UK varetager regler for Engelske Offshore Attest (OGUK Medicals).

The County Governor of Rogaland has a nationwide role when it comes to matters concerning health and hygiene in petroleum operations at sea on the Norwegian continental shelf. More information: SEE MORE

The OGUK medical and Norwegian Medical Certificate must be undertaken by approved doctors who have a special authorization. 


An Offshore medical examination includes:

Detailed Medical History

Physical Examination – including: Height, weight, vision, urine test, BMI

Audiometry (hearing test)

Lung function screening

You are required to show photographic ID.

Certification generally lasts for 2 years unless restrictions limiting scope of duties on medical grounds are required.


 

Shoulder Width – Bideltoid Measurement

As part of new Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations, all helicopter passengers (flying from the UK) require a shoulder measurement certificate. This additional safety measure came into force in April 2015. In other countries the shoulder measurement can often be performed at the heliport.
